Winning Line-ups for Daily Fantasy Baseball 6/2

It's Tuesday, so it's another chance for you to get in Draft Team's Triple Play contest for a crack at the big prize pool. Space is limited, so hurry and get your entry in before it fills up! Just over a year ago, Miami SS Adeiny Hechavarria ($7,002) landed on the DL. Ironically, he's hurt again, this time with a shoulder injury, sidelining him for the past three games. However, reports suggest that Hechavarria will return to action against the Cubs Tuesday. He's hit safely in seven of the last eight games to wrap up a May that wasn't nearly as strong as his April, but there's no doubt that this 26-year-old Cuban's bat is coming around this year. Hechavarria's counting cats are up and he's hitting a robust .300 with a much better .330 OBP. Make sure he's in the Marlin lineup before grabbing him, but considering he's owned the Cubs over his career (.342 BA), this is a dude you want in your lineup. Can you believe how Texas LF Josh Hamilton ($11,797) has suddenly remembered how to hit now that he's back with the Rangers? With Texas dealing with some injuries, you can expect Hambone to be in the lineup pretty much every day. On Sunday, he was the hero with a pinch-hit, two-run double with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. For the weekend series, Hamilton was 5-for-11 with two homers and two doubles. Oh, and against Tuesday's SP for the White Sox, Jeff Samardzija? All Hamilton has done has take him yard twice in six career at-bats. In mid-April, we recommended Baltimore CF Adam Jones, and it was a decent pick, as he managed a hit, a walk and a run that night. Well, Jones ($8,137) has cooled lately (2-for-15 over the last four games), but Monday was his first game back after hurting his ankle last week and he's expected to play the field Tuesday after DHing last game. Given Jones' history against Houston SP Collin McHugh (3-for-6 with a homer), we're expecting B-More's main man to snap out of his mini skid on Tuesday.

Quick Hits

  • Dodger 1B Adrian Gonzalez has feasted on Colorado starter Jorge De La Rosa (17-for-46, .370 BA, six doubles, three dingers) over his career.
  • Washington 3B Anthony Rendon (oblique) finally began a rehab assignment last week, so he should be back with the Nats within the next week or so.
  • St. Louis' offense is really struggling right now, so consider taking opponent pitchers. Delivering key hits has been the issue as the Cards are just 6-for-37 with runners in scoring position in the last five games, scoring just 11 total runs over this stretch.

Daily Fantasy Sports Line-Up 6/1

https://www.draftteam.com/blog/kurt-suzuki-trying-to-shake-off-slump/ Welcome back to another great week of Daily Fantasy Baseball. Minnesota Twins catcher Kurt Suzuki ($7,098), who enjoyed one of his best-hitting seasons last year, has experienced some major shrinkage in his offensive output in 2015. And with a .192 mark over his last seven games, things haven't been getting any better. In fact, Suzuki has seen a fair amount of pine time lately -- but there is some good news. The Twins kick off another series against Boston on Monday, and the veteran backstop simply loves facing the BoSox, hitting safely in 13 straight games against them to the tune of a .417 mark. Better yet, Boston is starting Clay Buchholz, a pitcher whom Suzuki is 9-for-18 against in his career. We're banking on Suzuki snapping his slump in a big way Monday. It's time to jump on Miami 1B Justin Bour's ($11,658) train. This rookie just keeps mauling pitchers, having gone deep three straight games. In all, Bour is 24-for-65 (.369) with five dingers this season. Oh sure, this may all be a weird anomaly, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take advantage of his hot streak while you can. Colorado 2B DJ LeMahieu ($9,545) is an amazing pick right now. He had a huge game Sunday (3-for-4, two runs, two-run homer) to raise his BA to .380 over the last 13 games. Keep in mind, LeMahieu enjoyed an even better April than May, and overall, we are loving how productive he's been this season. But here's the kicker: he has struggled against the Dodgers lately (.146 BA over last 14 games) and specifically against Clayton Kershaw (who hasn't?), going just 2-for-14 over the last two seasons. We're recommending you discard the history and ride the hot hand -- especially considering that Kershaw hasn't exactly looked like himself early on this season.

Quick Hits

  • On Monday, Atlanta SP Alex Wood has a chance to win a third straight start for the first time in his career -- all on the road. He's only given up three runs in 14 IP over his last two outings.
  • Tampa Bay 3B Evan Longoria is 0-for-5 in his career against Monday's starter, Garrett Richards. Longo is also hitless in his last two games with just a .227 mark over the last week and a substandard .262 BA in May.
  • Seattle SP Felix Hernandez (8-1 with a 1.91 ERA) is averaging over seven innings per start, putting him on pace to top 225 frames for the sixth time in his career. Workhorse!

Online Poker in the United States

I just got a letter from an online poker player who was unaware of recent laws in the United States pertaining to online poker. Most important thing to remember is because online poker is relatively new there are not a lot of laws on the books. First and foremost law is there can be no operators within the borders of the United States that operate an online gaming company without a license. Companies likes Twin Spires, Bet Fair currently operate in various states with horse racing licenses. Nevada recently licensed the first online poker company to operate within their borders. As for the players there is one law on the books and that is in the state of Washington where it is a felony to gamble online. In 2006 the UIGEA or Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act was passed which went into effect in January of 2010. The summary of the law was banks could not be used with their credit cards, debit cards, pay pal, or any other source to fund an online/offshore gaming account. In April of 2010 The Department of Justice came down hard on companies like Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars who repeatedly violated this act resulting in the expulsion of these companies. There are other ways to fund offshore gaming accounts and the most popular in Western Union but recently the True Poker Network has utilized Belizean debit cards not under the jurisdiction of the United States to fund gaming accounts for US citizens. Click this link to sign u with True Poker and email schap35@gmail.com for an application and directions to receive a debit card so you can enjoy online poker!

PSU Cover Up

This commentary is not to justify Jerry Sandusky as I believe he is more than likely guilty and that is why I could never be an impartial juror and according to the US Constitution which keeps the civility in the United States we need to recognize the Constitution and court procedures otherwise government, police, and politicians will use it against us to paint a story with the media. Right now there are bits and pieces, people are appalled and they should be but making sure we get the complete story is necessary and most main stream news sources will not print this thus we need the underworld of news which is the internet and I hope this story is shared by many to get to the core of the truth as people we are supposed to trust have done a great injustice not only to young children but to innocent men of which none is Jerry Sandusky in this commentary.

The Penn State University association with Jerry Sandusky is going to get super ugly and the whole truth will probably never come out as there is far more to it than just Penn State University. The cover up involves Penn State officials starting with the board of trustees, government officials and the police all doing this very best to try to pin this on the most obvious person which is Joe Paterno. One thing I would bet my life on is Joe Paterno didn't want Sandusky around PSU.

Let's look at some facts. Jerry Sandusky was twice named assistant coach of the year in Division I college football. He was a great defensive coordinator and the record proves his worth to a football team. While Sandusky was at Penn State the Nittany Lions had 31 winning seasons during a 32 year stretch. The University was nicknamed Linebacker U. In 1997 Sandusky was first subjected to child abuse charges and than DA of Centre County, Pennsylvania Ray Gricar dismissed the charges despite evidence and a statement from a victim that Sandusky was showering in the nude with minors and fondling young boys. Because Gricar dismissed the charges it was just an allegation and with 32 years of tenure at Penn State, the University couldn't just fire him without justification otherwise the University would face a wrongful termination lawsuit.

Regardless after the original allegations Joe Paterno told Sandusky he would not be the next head coach at Penn State and that he should consider retiring. Paterno informed Sandusky the football team needed to head in a different direction. Considering PSU was a used to winning football seasons with Sandusky. The five years immediately after Sandusky's departure PSU had 4 losing season. The decision to push Sandusky out was not about winning but about character and Sandusky's character was certainly in question. Per the urging of Paterno, Sandusky agreed to an early "enhanced retirement package" and since he was never convicted he was in a position to negotiate a decent retirement package. Due to the horrible record and sub standard PSU defenses Tim Curley the PSU athletic director actually asked Joe to step down as football coach and Paterno refused. Based on this knowledge it is safe to say Joe Paterno was not all about winning football games as he pushed out his best assistant coach because of strong allegations.

At the young age for a football coach (55) Sandusky was now retired and out of a job and his focus turned towards the charity he founded; the Second Mile Charity. This charity had a legal counselor named Wendell Courtney. Courtney is also the man who negotiated on behalf of the University Sandusky's retirement package. The retirement package consisted of the title Professor of Physical Education with emeritus status allowing Sandusky full use of University facilities. Sandusky was also recipient of an office in East Hall along with a telephone line yet he never taught at PSU. The retirement package was approved by the Penn State board of trustees (1998) NOT Joe Paterno the football coach.

Why would Sandusky need an office and phone at PSU? The answer lies with Wendell Courtney. Courtney was legal counsel for The Second Mile Charity, a charity that raised millions of dollars for under privileged youths. Raising funds for this organization includes many ex Nittany Lion players who played in the NFL with big time contacts. Sandusky maintained his reputation that included rather complimentary words from former Super Bowl winning coach Dick Vermeil, former President George H. Bush, and many others plus the association with Penn State University as the cleanest football program in collegiate sports. The PSU connection, the phone, the office was all beneficial to Sandusky to raise funds for the Second Mile Charity. Wendell Courtney as legal counsel was also a beneficiary of the fund raising as only 10% of the funds donated to charities are required by law to go to the actual cause while 90% can be used towards administration fees.

Money was the motivation for Sandusky's existence at PSU as for the District Attorney for Centre County Ray Gricar he cannot answer questions because he has been missing since 2005. Gricar's Mini Cooper was last seen along the banks adjacent to the Susquehanna River in April of 2005, 9 years earlier his brother Roy's body was found in the great Miami River in Ohio.

"Police and family members noted that the location where the vehicle was found – adjacent to two bridges over the Susquehanna River – bore some similarities to the location where the vehicle of Roy Gricar, Ray Gricar's older brother, was located before his body was found in the Great Miami River in Ohio in 1996." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Gricar

Now let's look at Joe Paterno's character. He was an advocate of academics, his players graduated at a rate 78%, 9% greater than the national average and only second to Northwestern in the Big Ten Conference.

"Paterno is also renowned for his charitable contributions to academics at Penn State. He and his wife Sue have contributed over $4 million towards various departments and colleges, including support for the Penn State All-Sports Museum, which opened in 2002, and the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center, which opened in 2003. After helping raise over $13.5 million in funds for the 1997 expansion of Pattee Library, the University named the expansion Paterno Library in their honor.

In 2007, former player Franco Harris and his company R Super Foods honored Paterno for his contributions to Penn State by featuring his story and picture on boxes of Super Donuts and Super Buns in Central PA. A portion of the sales will be donated to an endowment fund for the university library that bears his name." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Paterno#Philanthropy_and_education

It should also be noted that Paterno never earned more than $568,000 a year in his career well below what he could have commanded with both tenure and a following nationwide. While most division I coaches earn well over a million and up to $5 million per season Joe Paterno the living legend collegiate football Hall of Famers barely made a 1/2 million per year. Joe raised funds also but those funds were given to the cause not his personal wealth as Joe lived in a very moderate house on the PSU campus.

Joe had a reputation of playing by the rules and if he was guilty of anything it was playing by the rules when it came to Sandusky. Joe couldn't fire Sandusky in 1999 he had to suggest he retire from the program. In 2002 upon hearing of allegations from Mike McQueary about child molestation in the showers by the former assistant Sandusky, Joe followed rules, just like he has done his entire life. The rules at Penn State set out by the board of trustees states, that any sexual misconduct must be reported to ones immediate superior. In this case Paterno and McQueary reported to Tim Curley the Athletic Director and Gary Schultz the Sr. VP of Business and Finance. Paterno followed the rules along with McQueary and per state law Mike McQueary witnessed an act in the showers of alleged sexual misconduct with a minor by an adult and by law he must report this to the police. Grand Jury Report, page 12

Let's face it Joe Paterno was a football coach at Penn State, he had legendary status, he had great support but he was never a God as some people suggested. He yielded power to the board of trustees. The same group that fired him and if you are indeed and almighty powerful god you don't have the board of trustees firing you.

As for Mike McQueary, the than 28 year old graduate assistant allegedly witnessed a horrific act for which he came forward to Joe Paterno, Tim Curley, Gary Schultz and per his own statements, the police. University police and Centre County police are both denying reports of McQueary making statements. McQueary is considered a credible witness by the state. He has not been fired by the board of trustees and he is not wanted by the police for any violations of the law yet both the police departments with jurisdiction are denying he made a statement. Considering McQueary has not been charged and he was found to be a credible honest witness by the appointed grand jury I would assume he has been honest and did make a police report. As for the police as the puzzle comes together it appears they are involved in the cover up.

Gary Schultz is an important figure in this entire debacle. Schultz is the Senior Vice President of Business and Finance for Penn State. He also overseehttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifs the PSU police department. In other words he is either the head of the University Police Department or he is a representative of the police department otherwise what importance did he have with hearing statements from Paterno and McQueary? Schultz and AD Tim Curley decided the report from McQueary was "not that serious" and like Ray Gricar in 1998 dismissed the eye witness account from McQueary and never reported their findings to the state of Pennsylvania child services dept as required by law. Gary Schultz would appear to have a major conflict of interest. He was the head of the University police department and also the Sr. Vice President of Business and Finance; to report Sandusky for sexual misconduct with a minor would have rocked the PSU program in 2002 costing the University revenue and making Schultz look bad so it's possible he decided to cover up and focus on finance and business. Schultz has also been discredited as having faulty testimony in the case and is not considered a credible witness. Grand Jury Report page 9

This wouldn't be the first time the police have covered up a crime as it starts to appear the fraternity in blue with statements of sexual abuse by Sandusky in 1997 in Centre County Now police deny McQueary made a report to them in 2002 more cover up. Schultz is currently retired from PSU and is out on bail for failing to report a criminal act against a child (Grand Jury report page 12) Based on the information Schultz received from McQueary he along with recently fired President Graham Spanier took away Sandusky's keys and notified him not to bring children onto PSU property. This was not Joe Paterno's ruling these were Senior officials of the Penn State University making the decisiono.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

In 2009 more allegations were brought against Jerry Sandusky by Clinton County High School for molesting young boys where Sandusky was a volunteer coach. The 2009 charges were the responsibility of than Attorney General (Republican) Tom Corbett. Corbett claims he put off the case because he had ties to the Sandusky family. In 2009 Corbett had enough evidence to arrest Sandusky but chose to wait. Ironically the Second Mile Charity had donated over $640,000 to Corbett's political campaigning including $200,000 for Corbett's 2010 race for Governor of Pennsylvania http://earlyreturns.sites.post-gazette.com/index.php/early-returns-20/53-post-gazette-staff/3641-more-second-mile-psucorbett-ties To make matters worse Governor Tom Corbett aware of the Sandusky child molestation case in 2009 as attorney general approved a $3,000,000 state grant to The Second Mile Charity in 2010 and this is the same governor who refused to spend $40 million for disabled citizens but had $3 million to give a charity who he knew was the focus point of a child molestation case. http://thepennsylvaniaprogressive.com/

The cover up is far deeper and goes into the judicial system and polithttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifics. The judge who set the bail for Sandusky to roam free on $100,000 bail ($400,000 lighter than requested by the prosecutor's office) had direct ties with the Second Mile Charity; another conflict of interest. The Second Mile charity also recently bought land from Penn St. University which was approved by the board of trustees which includes on the board Republican Governor Tom Corbett. Had Corbett revealed in 2009 Sandusky his acceptance of campaign donations from Sandusky's charity might have come into strong question and he would have not received more financial support in 2010 for the governor's race. If that is not enough political influence, include in the embarrassment Senator (Rep) Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania into the mix. In 2002 Sandusky was awarded with the "Angels in Adoption Award" by Senator Santorum for his work with foster children so the "sweeping under the rug 1997 case" was well covered by Pennsylvania politicians. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Second_Mile

With all of the money involved with The Second Mile charity and the President and founder of the charity Jerry Sandusky it took a lot of nerve or ignorance by Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan to criticize Joe Paterno for "not meeting his moral obligations". It's easy to go after the 84 year old man after all he is feeble and will die soon enough even if he decides to sue the state for slandering his reputation. Remember Paterno tried to get rid of Sandusky the board of trustees allowed him to keep and office on campus.

Frank Noonan stirred the pot, he slandered Joe Paterno so badly that support for Paterno was at an all time low. This allowed the board of trustees to fire Paterno. The spotlight has been placed on Paterno as an "enabler" yet Sandusky has not been under Joe Paterno's supervision since 1999. Joe is a big enough figure that a spotlight on him takes it off of the real "enablers". Frank Noonan slandered Joe Pa to take the focus off his boss in the governor's office. The money trail from Sandusky to Corbett is documented. Jerry had a value to Tom Corbett's political career.

It's a horrific tragedy that young boys for years have been allegedly molested by Sandusky. I refrain from calling him guilty but the evidence and the political cover up supported by police departments state wide and the attempt to deflect press onto Joe Paterno is the most corrupt sickest political scandals in my lifetime. A case so vile as child molestation that is covered up for so many years probably wouldn't be covered up by a man that followed the rules his entire life of 84 years and showed excellent character but when politicians, police, and money is involved even the sickest of actions are allowed for such an extensive period of time until it gets so hideous that parents talk to too many cops until finally something has to be done and it has been done.

PSU in this case does not stand for Penn State University, it stands for Political State cover Up. Sorry but to cover up child molestation for 14 years the man who does not supervise him for the past 12 years and pushes him out of the program is not big enough to enable a child molester but with political donations a governor and attorney general has more than enough power.

Ex Buckeye on Jim Tressell

In Defense of My Coach

It is always sad to see a hero fall. It has happened to me a few times, and for a few different reasons. Mario Lemieux was taken from the game of hockey as he reached his prime to battle illness. Tiger Woods lived a double life and is now a shell of the man who used to make the world shake with the reverberating roars of galleries across America. Those were my sporting heroes.

Men who stood at the pinnacle of their respective professions and made a legitimate difference in people’s lives.

I thought that watching them lose their air of invincibility would be the hardest way to see a career end. I thought that I would never feel so hopeless again, because I would never be as young and impressionable as I was when I let these men become such a large part of my life. Then again, I thought Jim Tressel was invincible.

Let me start by saying that I will not blame my teammates for any of this. Am I mad at them? Yes. I am mad as Hell at them for some of their actions. I am furious they cast aside our symbols of brotherhood and victory for a few hundred dollars. Those rings and Gold Pants were supposed to remind us forever of what we were a part of. Those rings were supposed to clank off of each other as we shook hands at our 2010 Rose Bowl Champs 25th anniversary banquet. Those rings were a part of our legacy to be carried on to our grandchildren as they looked at us in our rocking chairs and wondered how in the world we used to be champion athletes.

But who am I to tell someone what is important? Show an 18-year-old some money and give him some power, and you have a recipe for disaster. Put yourself in their shoes and tell me you would be able to resist temptation. You can’t. Tell an 18-year-old that he is the greatest enough times, and he will believe you. It comes with the territory.

Coach Tressel made the choice to try to account for his young players’ transgressions and move forward into the season with one of his most talented teams ever. It’s a choice he now undoubtedly regrets.

In my brief time at the top level of the amateur game, I learned one thing to be true without fail: If you succeed, people will hate you. And if people hate you, they will try to bring you down. Look at Auburn. If they went 2-4 through their first six games, would jealous Mississippi State boosters have come out of the woodwork to rat out Cam Newton? Fat chance. And along those lines, there is an even fatter chance that both Gene Chizik and Cam himself knew nothing of Cecil’s plan to shop his son. Examples are abundant. Bob Stoops knew nothing about the tens of thousands of dollars Rhett Bomar took for working a no-show job? Yeah, and I’m dating Beyonce. Dig deep enough anywhere you want, you’re eventually going to hit the dirt.

The difference is that when the others got caught, there was no proof. Coach Tressel reached out to people he thought may have an influence on future decisions made by the players (the quarterback’s “mentor”), and in doing so, sealed his own fate. The nail in his own coffin came in the form of a concerned e-mail.

Do I think Coach Tress was in the dark about the alleged ongoing violations by his players? No way. I always thought that man knew everything. My freshman year he approached me, a mere walk-on back-up punter, and asked me how my parents and two sisters were doing. He referred to them all by name! We had about 120 players on the team and he knew every person in all 120 immediate families. He knew because he cared.

He made a promise to our families to take care of us and he did everything in his power to fulfill that promise. He made us read books that would help us in life, write reports about those books, and present them to the team. The first thing we did every day was reflect and pray. There were constant reminders about how lucky we were to be playing a game for a free education and a chance at a better life. He made us sit through hours of brutal meetings with the compliance office almost every week. Believe me, we all knew what was legal and what was not legal. He brought lawyers and policemen in to warn us about the dangers of drunk driving, nightlife, and hanging out with the wrong people. He put us in hospitals to interact with patients, and introduced us to the military.

He taught us that there was more to being an Ohio State football player than just football.

We had a responsibility to present ourselves in a positive way, as we were representatives of so many things so much bigger than ourselves. Apparently, some of us could not handle that honor.

To some of us, there were different priorities, and becoming a man under the watchful eye of millions around the world was too much. George Dohrmann from Sports Illustrated suggested that Jim Tressel lost control of his football team. Quite the contrary. The Ohio State Football culture took over Columbus. Coach was the only reason there WAS any control on this football team. Ask the troubled former receiver. Ask the star quarterback. Our mistakes occurred away from his watchful eye.

Our mistakes had nothing to do with Jim Tressel.

Coach Tressel had one goal for each and every one of his players. He wanted to put us in the best position possible to succeed. Both on the field and off. He taught us that complacency was not an option, and that we could only be the best men that we could be if we learned every single day. He taught us everything he could, and gave us resources to learn what he could not teach us.

I want to look him in the eyes and thank him for the chance he gave me. I want to thank him for the life I live today and the doors he opened for me along the way. I want to thank him for introducing me to BuckeyeNation. I want to thank him for my rings and for my gold pants. I want to thank him for allowing me to live my dream and for the happiest moments of my young life.

He always said, “On your best days be great. On your worst days, be good. Every other day, get better.” Let’s just say that today, the Ohio State community is only good. But thanks to our Coach, we will always be better. Go Bucks!

Super Sunday Standoff

The Packers and Steelers are not the top seeds in either league but they are the best of both leagues. The Packers dismantled the NFC beating up on division champion Eagles, Falcons and Bears so the only question is could they beat the NFC West champion Seahawks, most likely with their back up quarterback in Seattle. As for the Steelers they knocked off a very talented Baltimore squad and a tough Jets team built for the playoffs. Only New England might have a beef for being the best in the AFC but other than that we got the two best in the Super Bowl.

The match-up might be the most tightly contested match-up in years. Both teams have stellar defenses. Green Bay might have more glamorous names on defense but the Steelers have a history of defense. The slight edge in Green Bay match-up against the Steeler defense is a good quarterback can have success against the Steelers. Look at Tom Brady as his Patriots carved up Pittsburgh in the regular season. Is Aaron Rodgers better than Tom Brady, probably not but more effective right now he very well could be with his pin point passing attack. Than again don't expect the Packers to put up more than the 21 they put on the Bears in the NFC championship game. The championship game is one thing but the Super Bowl is a different level and expect the Packers to be a bit tight with their in-experienced big game offense.

The Steelers might not have a more glamorous offense than the Packers but it is just as effective and as good as Aaron Rodgers may be Ben Roethlisberger is proven better on the big stage. The Steelers will depend on their run game which should have a tough time going against a stout Packers line led by NG BJ Raji and middle lineback AJ Hawk an unheralded linebacker but just the guy you want in the middle against Pittsburgh's rushing offense. If the run game cannot it going which will be a big challenge for the Steelers than Big Ben will need help from his tight end and receivers. Hines Ward and Mike Wallace will need to come up big. Unfortunately for the Steelers as good as the Packers defensive line and linebackers are the defensive backs might be the best quartet in the league led by Charles Woodson and young Tremayne Williams.

So with such stout offenses and neither defenses having much of an advantage in the match-ups the special teams will be the x-factor. Neither team has a stand out returner so a big part of deciding the game will be the punters and field position. Will the place kickers do their jobs and hit the important field goals which can be the difference in a close ballgame? Either way this will be a battle of two very talented teams so what to do in a match-up like this? Either take the team with the points or the under. In this case the Steelers are early 2.5 point underdogs and the total sits at 44.

Take the under 44.

Howling @ the Halloween Moon with Home Dogs

Sticking to the basic blue print for Halloween upsets and there is nothing better than going with the home dogs. Literally we went with the dogs, the North Carolina State Wolfpack on Thursday and last night the UConn Huskies. Moving into Saturday it gets a bit eerie as we have to take non-canine home dogs with the USC Trojans plus the 7.5 points in Los Angeles on natural grass against the canine toothed Ducks from Oregon who have more than sufficient bite. The other half of the home dogs Saturday duo is the Air Force Academy to dash out the BCS hopes and undefeated season for the #8 ranked Utah Utes.

The home teams that will be ready for ambush are the Oregon State Beavers -2.5 against California and the high powered Cornhuskers from Nebrasksa to completely wipe the artificial turf floor with #7 Missouri.
